As systemic psychotherapist I believe in relationships: with ourselves, with our partners, families and other people and with everything in the world. Together we can explore how you can make the most of your relationships. Although problems are serious, or else they would not be problems, the way to overcome them can sometimes be playful. In my sessions there is often more than just “talking”. While your ideas are most important you also have a right to know what I am thinking.
I do not strongly believe in specialism. However, I do have a “soft spot” for children and young people considered “difficult” and for work in the context of children services. I also enjoy working with couples and ex-couples. For individuals I can be particularly helpful with regards to personal development and decision making.
I have been teaching systemic social work as senior lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire and have been social worker and clinician for various local authorities, most recently Hammersmith and Fulham. I am a systemic tutor for Frontline and coach social work managers for Firstline.
