Working with cultural, religious or sexual minorities has been central to my development as a counsellor. I aim to create a supportive space providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment, enabling an exploration of personal issues.
Experienced in working with individuals on sexuality, sexual abuse, chemsex, addiction, recovery, shame and internalised homophobia, depression, trauma and relationships. I will always work within the patient’s frame of reference, engaging collaboratively
I see clients individually, work with groups and on Skype. Skilled in working on building self-esteem and acceptance, I aim to support individuals to work on improving their overall well-being.
I facilitate Salaam at NLGT, a group for Muslim men who have sex with men (see Calendar for more information.)
Qualified counsellor, I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy(BACP), the Institute of Group Analysis, Black, African, Asian Therapy Network, British Psychology Society (BPS) and Critical Psychotherapy Group.
As an Integrative Counsellor my theoretical approaches include Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytical, Intercultural/Transcultural, Cognitive Analytical Therapy and Existential Therapy.
