I have spent over 40 years working with people from diverse economic, cultural, class, age, and social backgrounds - whether from racialised communities or not. I provide the opportunity for the client to experience an affirmative, anti-oppressive framework and gaze that acknowledges the importance of past and lived experience, and in the process enables clients to develop a stronger understanding of themselves.
I take an integrative relational approach to working with clients, meaning I draw on a range of different therapeutic theories to provide a therapeutic lens that directly addresses their situation, and what they seek to resolve within the therapeutic relationship as a consequence of their social location(s).
From this humanistic and person centred perspective, my work with clients involves empathising with, and integration of their lived experience including racism, classism, misogyny, and other forms of structural, generational and interpersonal discrimination including homophobia and transphobia in order to overcome these harms.
The emphasis is on facilitating clients to arrive at a place of peace, greater acceptance and understanding of themselves, whilst resolving past and present trauma(s) that might be impacting and impeding their life, relationships and self-esteem.
My services are available to adults, adolescents, and children from all walks of life. Along with providing affirmative integrative counselling and psychotherapy, I also offer bespoke supervision and training to individuals and organisations in order to encourage an intersectional approach to the way counselling and psychotherapy services are delivered.
I am an integrative (arts) psychotherapist, Child and Adolescent Counsellor, Integrative Supervisor. I am an experienced trainer and groupworker.
